The short answer
A med spa's recurring paperwork usually centres on lasers, delegation and staff safety. In Texas that means the TDLR laser hair removal facility certificate ($750 every 2 years), DSHS laser registration ($230 every 2 years) and the Texas Medical Board's delegation paperwork. In Florida, Class IIIB/IV lasers are registered within 30 days of acquisition, and you and your attorney decide whether an AHCA clinic license or exemption applies. In Arizona, the ADHS laser fee is due every Jan 1 and technicians renew every year. Everywhere, staff with exposure need OSHA bloodborne pathogens training each year, and DEA registration renews every 3 years if you handle controlled substances.

Does my medical director handle all of this?
Your medical director oversees clinical care and signs what's theirs. The forms, renewals, rosters and binder are paperwork someone has to prepare; that's what we do, for you and your medical director to review and sign.
Which laser renewals does a med spa have?
It depends on the state: Texas has a TDLR facility certificate ($750 every 2 years) and DSHS device registration ($230 every 2 years); Florida registers Class IIIB/IV lasers once, within 30 days of acquisition, with no fee; Arizona has an annual ADHS fee due Jan 1 plus a 5-year registration renewal.
